چکیده

Closed monopolies in graphs have a quite long range of applications in several problems related to overcoming failures, since they frequently have some common approaches around the notion of majorities, for instance to consensus problems, diagnosis problems or voting systems. We introduce here open k-monopolies in graphs which are closely related to different parameters in graphs. Given a graph G = (V,E) and X ⊆ V , if δX(v) is the number of neighbors v has in X, k is an integer and t is a positive integer, then we establish in this article a connection between the following three concepts: • Given a nonempty set M ⊆ V a vertex v of G is said to be k-controlled by M if δM (v) ≥ δV (v) 2 + k. The set M is called an open k-monopoly for G if it k-controls every vertex v of G. ∗Supported by the Ministry of Science of Slovenia under the grant P1-0297. On the computational complexity of finding a minimal basis for the guess and determine attack

Guess-and-determine attack is one of the general attacks on stream ciphers. It is a common cryptanalysis tool for evaluating security of stream ciphers. The effectiveness of this attack is based on the number of unknown bits which will be guessed by the attacker to break the cryptosystem. In this work, we present a relation between the minimum numbers of the guessed bits and uniquely restricted...

Strength of strongest dominating sets in fuzzy graphs

A set S of vertices in a graph G=(V,E) is a dominating set ofG if every vertex of V-S is adjacent to some vertex of S.For an integer k≥1, a set S of vertices is a k-step dominating set if any vertex of $G$ is at distance k from somevertex of S. In this paper, using membership values of vertices and edges in fuzzy graphs, we introduce the concepts of strength of strongestdominating set as well a...

On Total Edge Irregularity Strength of Staircase Graphs and Related Graphs

Let G=(V(G),E(G)) be a connected simple undirected graph with non empty vertex set V(G) and edge set E(G). For a positive integer k, by an edge irregular total k-labeling we mean a function f : V(G)UE(G) --> {1,2,...,k} such that for each two edges ab and cd, it follows that f(a)+f(ab)+f(b) is different from f(c)+f(cd)+f(d), i.e. every two edges have distinct weights. The minimum k for which G ...

On dynamic monopolies of graphs with general thresholds

Let G be a graph and τ : V (G) → N be an assignment of thresholds to the vertices ofG. A subset of verticesD is said to be dynamic monopoly (or simply dynamo) if the vertices of G can be partitioned into subsets D0,D1, . . . ,Dk such that D0 = D and for any i = 1, . . . , k − 1 each vertex v in Di+1 has at least t(v) neighbors in D0∪ . . .∪Di. Dynamic monopolies are in fact modeling the irrever...
